Ferrofluid

Behind the Design:This year is my final FPA collection as a Senior wrapping up my Marketing and Fashion Retail Studies majors at The Ohio State University. My design inspiration comes from the transformational power that clothing has, especially within nightlife and drag. I’ve also found a code of mine in the contrast between sharp and soft elements. Diverging from my usual love of color, I found Ferrofluid to be my main inspiration for this collection because of said contrast- its shining black form changing with magnetism to look almost alien-like. I also wanted to play with fabrics that catch light in unique ways to simulate the wetness of the chemical compound. The emotions put into the making of these pieces were strong, and I feel really proud of the finished results.
